Rebekah Turner Mears Launches Women in Leadership Networking Luncheon in Birmingham Alabama

rebekahLeadership expert John Maxwell says that leadership is influence nothing more, nothing less. This statement inspired Rebekah Mears to become the founder of a new monthly leadership event in Birmingham.

The mother of two active boys, Rebekah understands the need for personal growth and development. Between growing her mortgage business and running the boys to hockey games, she still makes the time to invest into others as well.

“As a business woman in the community, I recognized that other women leaders wanted a place to come together where they could support each other as well as learn, share and grow. I wanted to add value to the women in the community, so I created the luncheon.” Said Rebekah.

Jennifer Connelly founder and CEO of JCPR, wrote an article in Entrepreneur Magazine that stated that in order to remove obstacles in business, women should come together and help each other out. Her article titled, ‘How Women Leaders Win and Help Others Do the Same’, outlined that women should specialize, innovate, and shape their own future. Fortune magazine stated that to get ahead in business, a leader must become skilled at the art of making great connections. The purpose of Women In Leadership Networking Luncheon is to connect women business leaders with other leaders and cultivate an atmosphere of growth.

“When I meet with women business leaders they all express a desire to come together in an environment that increases their leadership skills and connections, ” said Rebekah. “We want to provide that opportunity through this program in Birmingham.”

The Women in Leadership Networking Luncheon is slated to be a monthly event with a scheduled speaker on a variety of topics relating to leadership and business. Attendees will be able to join the group for free and the only cost will be for the lunch provided. There will also be ample time to network with other leaders to grow each others business.

“I am so excited to see women come together and help each other become the best they can possibly be,” added Rebekah.

John Maxwell in his book, The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, said “The bottom line in leadership isn’t how far we advance ourselves but how far we advance others.” The launch of this group appears to be this statement in motion.

In addition to being the founder of this group, Rebekah is also working on writing a book that will encourage others to pursue their dreams and goals in business. The book is schedule for release during the 2nd quarter of 2016.
