Harrison, AR – June 4, 2018: Harness Roofing, Inc.
Harness Roofing, Inc., of Harrison, Arkansas, has received the most prestigious contractor award GAF offers: The GAF President’s Club Award. This highly coveted award recognizes Harness Roofing as one of the “elite of the elite” commercial roofing contractors in the United States.
GAF is North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, and only GAF Master Select(TM) Contractors can compete for its commercial President’s Club Award. To qualify for this award, a commercial roofing contractor must meet specific criteria in at least one out of three different pathways:
Performance pathway – where contractors focus on giving their property owners the best possible service, quality, and protection
Reliability pathway – where the contractor has a long history of offering their customers the best quality and protection
Service pathway – where contractors consistently offer their customers the best protection available in the marketplace.
Harness Roofing has been a GAF Master Select(TM) Contractor since 2002. To become a Master Select(TM) Contractor–a status that less than 1% of roofing contractors nationwide are able to achieve–a candidate must demonstrate proper licensing, maintain insurance (in states that require it), have a proven reputation, and show commitment to ongoing professional training.
“We value our certified contractors for raising the industry standard year after year by installing the best roofing products and systems. Our President’s Club award recognizes only those contractors who have distinguished themselves by the highest standards of excellence, customer satisfaction, and dependability,” says Jim Slauson, GAF’s VP of Certified Program & Services.
Some roofing contractors really stand out from the pack, with services and policies that just can’t be found anywhere else. Harness Roofing is one such company. “This President’s Club award is not based on how much you buy,” states Roger Harness, president. “It’s about the quality of your work, the warranties you issue, the training you put into the company. We’re a step above other companies in those aspects.”
Training, safety, and service standards are serious matters at Harness Roofing. “We put teeth into our safety practices,” explains Harness. “We have daily, onsite inspections. If we find violations, we write up employees and provide retraining. But there’s a reward system, too–a quarterly bonus to employees who meet safety standards. Our EMR [Experience Modification Rate] rating is lower than average for roofing companies, meaning we’re a safer company.”
Expounding on the company’s high standards, Harness continues: “We’re prompt in responding to customers with quotes or services. We have a 24/7 toll-free number, weekends and holidays, too. Let me tell you about our maintenance and repair division. We have two people in a truck who are focused solely on emergency repairs and maintenance. Because we’re not pulling roofers off jobs to attend to these matters, these individuals have become very good at what they do. We have a 95% success rate of stopping a leak the first time we visit. We’ve even trademarked the term ‘C2 Customer Committed(R).’”
Describing the company’s expanding capabilities, Harness says, “We have five locations. In one of those, we’ve started a steep slope division–something we haven’t worked on previously. If it’s successful, we’ll incorporate it into other locations. We also started a waterproofing division in 2014. It’s not advertised at every location, but it’s exciting. Building owners are now able to call one company to handle anything associated with leaks–not just roofs, but windows, walls, parking decks, anything on the building exterior.”
Amongst all these divisions and projects, Harness Roofing still finds time to give back to the community. “We donated and installed one roof for the Ozark Arts Council,” says Harness, “and another for a local hospital auxiliary property. We also put on a roof for a woman who had lost her family. We continue to look for areas where we can help.”
“Going forward, we’ll keep improving and modernizing,” concludes Harness. “We’re paperless, we do everything through iPads, but we still have old-fashioned service–our trucks are clean, and our people wear uniforms and are courteous and respectful. We solve problems and make the customers happy. That’s the secret to our success.”
