Sgt. Morris is one of the world’s leading authorities in self-defense and the science of fighting on the street. At the kick-off event in Fort Worth on August 30th, Sgt. Morris delivers ‘A Warrior’s Path to Tactical and Emotional Survival’ and is expecting to address 2500 men and women in blue, firefighters, security officers, ISDs, and the general public. The following day, he’ll follow Keynote Tom Ziglar and introduce the Ziglar Blue approach to strengthening self-image, and building strong relationships between faith, family, and community.
Due to the accelerated violence, our communities have witnessed throughout the world; Blue Dragon International Consultants take an aggressive stand against evil and a highly skilled approach to stopping it.
Retired Sergeant Richard Morris joined the Blue Dragon International Consultants with one sole motivation: to ease the suffering, he’s seen in police departments over the last 36 years due to the increasing violence directed towards unarmed civilians and youth. Most would agree that these scenarios leave entire communities shaken but often overlooked are the men and women who run toward the danger and witness firsthand the senseless destruction of innocent victims. Though usually back at work within 48 hours with limited aftercare, Morris is determined to work with departments to help them reintegrate officers back to work and family safely, for stronger communities and departments.
Absent this level of training, families of first responders may end up neglected, or further damaged due to toxic addictions that can result when trauma is not thoroughly and compassionately addressed.
As a respected member of the North Texas Violent Gang Task Force and North Texas Crime Commission, Richard’s point of view reflects the experience and astute judgment shared by the line of duty officers and their upper-level management. This important perspective opens doors for better communication post trauma and critical awareness in the field. Better training results in faster solutions and better relationships between officers and the communities they serve.
Richard Morris is a 10th-degree black belt, Ziglar Legacy Certified coach and trainer, and a published author. His mastery of tactical strategy and physical control have left a long line of highly trained and versatile men and women successfully defeating aggressive foes.
Still serving Tarrant County as a deputy constable, task force commander, and chaplain for the Line of Duty Death Task Force, Morris is additionally a member of the FWPD’s peer team and critical incident stress management and debriefing team. When Sgt. Morris addresses an audience, he brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience that engages the crowd and elevates the conversation.
