Waseme is an award-winning attorney, having recently been recognized as a Woman of Power, for her international perspective on Intellectual Property, her work with the World Intellectual Property Organization, her support of the Trademark Monetization Act, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is an international speaker, global leader, and best-selling author, having multiple works published on the US Federal Registry, and as a commentator on the effect of international news aggregators on the United States Copyright Office roundtable discussions.
In her capacity at ArtWorks, she trains law students in its IP Externship Clinic. She also supervises Attorney Residents in the art of international client engagement so that creative individuals feel the freedom to express their talents in the world, knowing their ideas are protected and monetized.
About Ghada Ghannam
Ghada Ghannam is a Resident Intellectual Property Attorney at ArtWorks, where she also plays a key role in managing the externship program. Specializing in intellectual property and asylum law, Ghannam is dedicated to both her professional practice and her commitment to justice. When she isn’t safeguarding intellectual property rights, she passionately represents asylum seekers facing deportation, demonstrating her unwavering support for marginalized communities.
Ghannam’s career is underscored by a prestigious two-year fellowship, in which she was chosen as one of twenty-eight graduates from top law schools across the United States, with a competitive acceptance rate of approximately 17%. She holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas School of Law and a Master’s in Global Policy Studies from the LBJ School, with a concentration in International Trade and Finance. She is licensed to practice in Texas and New York.
Raised between Texas and Cairo, Ghannam integrates her diverse experiences into her creative endeavors. As an accomplished artist, she has designed book covers, zines, and comics, sharing her work on an art blog followed by over 6,000 enthusiasts. Her commitment to the arts extends to her volunteer work with Endless Editions, a publishing and curatorial initiative dedicated to artists’ books, riso printing, bookmaking, and design.

About Elliott Arkin
Elliott Arkin is a world-renowned artist, designer, curator, and sculptor whose innovative work transcends the boundaries of high art and popular culture. Celebrated for his clever, satirical sculptures, Arkin masterfully critiques and pokes fun at a wide array of subjects, from artists, art dealers, and critics to politicians and religious figures. His talent extends into the realm of animation, contributing to renowned films such as Horton Hears a Who.
Arkin began his career in New York designing windows for the legendary director Gene Moore at Tiffany’s & Co. in the early 1980s.
