What would be your number one piece of advice for people who are considering a new diet?

Heather Rosa

Seek a really good source of advice or maybe even to have a session with a nutritional therapist. A session with a nutritional therapist may well be a good place to start where you can actually sit down and just discuss these things with your individual needs.

What else would you say is really important for us to hear when it comes to our diet?

Heather Rosa

I believe diversity is important in the diet. That would be my top line. Keep the sugar to a minimum and don’t eat all the time. Really keep some distance in between your meals, around four hours. Your body needs to recuperate from the digestive process rather than being stimulated continually with food input. Every time you eat your immune system is activated and that requires energy. That requires nutrients and resources to power it. It needs to have downtime.

What will 2020 bring to the world of nutrition?

Heather Rosa

I think you’re going to find that 2020 is a year of interesting discussions around fermented foods, prebiotics, probiotics, postbiotics, and getting those fermented foods back into our diet. I think you’ll see much more of that coming in 2020.
