Jessica Fox is a speaker, author and master transformational coach who is an expert in strategy and mindset that increases profitability in business. She focuses on helping ambitious mothers create balance and helps them pursue their passion so that they can live a life where they are in love with their business, in love with their family and ultimately in love with themselves. In this interview, Jessica shares her inspiring journey, success secrets and key actions that you can learn from.
Izdihar: How did you start your Entrepreneurship journey?
Jessica: I started my entrepreneurial journey over 20 years ago as a teen with a babysitting business. Being able to serve others and help my neighbours by responding to their need for reliable but casual childcare was my first foray into the world of entrepreneurship. It gave me a taste for creating my own income and taught me the value of providing excellent service that people appreciate. Amazingly enough, I still serve mothers with children, just now, I get to support these amazing women as they tap into their potential as both entrepreneurs and mothers. I like to say that I help my clients do three things: Love their business, love their families and ultimately, love themselves.
Izdihar: Who inspired you to start your business?
Jessica: I have been inspired by the thousands of women I have spoken to that have expressed the inner conflict they feel between their desire to pursue and fulfil their dreams and what they believe it means to be a “good mom.” Many women, including myself, have been brought up believing that “being a good mom” means sacrificing everything of ourselves, including our desires and passions, is for the good of the family, and that choosing to do and be more than “just a mom” is equivalent to “prostituting our motherhood.” (No lie, a client shared with me how she was told this and we did a lot of work to help her let go of this condemning judgement.) I desire women to let go of the guilt, shame and overwhelm and understand that when they are pursuing their passions, it makes them a better mom!
Izdihar: What type of services or products do you offer?
Jessica: As a speaker I offer live and virtual training for women in both corporate and private settings. I speak on “Why Pursuing your Purpose Actually Makes You a Great Mom” and “Five Mistakes Ambitious Women Make that Leads to Burn-out.”
I also offer 1:1 and group coaching as well as courses designed to help ambitious women find alignment with their purpose, grow in their belief in themselves, master their circumstances with simple strategy and learn to be determined to see their dreams come true.
Izdihar: What is the best part of being an Entrepreneur?
Jessica: The best part of being an entrepreneur is that I have complete autonomy. I make my own schedule, pursue my own vision and get to build a business and a life in accordance with my passions and my strengths.
Izdihar: What is the most challenging part about being an Entrepreneur?
Jessica: The most challenging thing about being an entrepreneur is the mind games I play with myself. Those days when the doubt, the fear and the feelings of “not being good enough” get the better of me and make me question my path.
Izdihar: What are your biggest lessons about being an Entrepreneur?
Jessica: My biggest lessons are around resiliency and remaining determined and committed to the outcome I desire. This has changed everything in my life and business.
Izdihar: What’s your secret to balancing your family, business and ME time?
Jessica: A combination of careful planning and grace for your family and yourself. Being specific about what time and energy is allotted to business building and what is allotted for family and most important, investing daily in my health in body, mind and spirit.
Izdihar: Do you have any free gifts to offer to other Moms and Entrepreneurs?
