It’s no secret that for a business to be successful, it must generate sales. And while there is certainly a wealth of opportunity for solopreneurs who have the talent and willingness to help others, many lack the sales skills that will allow them to reach their business’s full potential.
During the interview, Collins revealed one of the biggest roadblocks coaches have when it comes to selling is the fear they have to become a pushy salesperson, saying, “They are afraid they have to be a different person when they’re in a sales conversation. And anytime we’re asked to be inauthentic, we don’t want to do it, so we make up these stories in our heads telling ourselves that we can’t ever be good at sales because that would mean that we have to become some sort of sleazy, slimy salesperson. These stories just keep getting in the way. Because you can be so good at what you do. But if you don’t have the skill to sell it, you will never be successful.”
