Tammi Brannan, “ I used to think that it was just anybody in their career that was not feeling satisfied. In your introduction, you talked about people wanting to next-level their career. And so, I used to say, “Anyone in their career who wants to next-level, who is not satisfied with their results, come my way, I’ll help you out.” But another evolution that has happened over the 10 years that I’ve been in business, is that I recognize there are a lot of professionals who are unable to adjust how they do their career, so it is hard for me to help them. They have an objective, but they also are being told how to reach that objective. These are really not my ideal clients.”
Tammi states, “The change I’ve made over time is to work just with professionals who have an objective but also have the freedom to pursue that objective in their own way. Because then, when I take them through the Blueprint Process and they learn all these amazing things about themselves, they have the freedom to apply those things to their process to get to their objective. Sometimes after learning about themselves, they even change their objectives. Regardless, they’re reaching their objectives faster and better than they were before because they’re using their own natural skills. But they, in their particular industry, have the freedom to do that. So my ideal clients are financial advisors, real estate agents, and business owners because they’ve got so much more flexibility. Nobody’s micromanaging them.”
I’ve always believed in the power of the individual, and I’ve always encouraged people to pursue their potential…it just took me a while to realize I had to be my own boss in order to do it in my way. In 2008 I took that plunge, while being the sole bread winner for myself and my two boys. Needless to say, this took my small family and I through a series of challenges, but when you have a cause, you will face down any obstacle that comes your way.
Every obstacle we have faced as a family has only made us stronger, and I’m proud to say that as my boys reach early adulthood, they share my conviction that one should choose a career that allows them to use the best of their abilities.
It’s so easy to slide into complacency these days; we take comfort in routine. But those few who abhor stagnation are my favorite clients. It’s fun for me to dive into their situation and re-energize them and their feelings for their career. To me, each person is that piece of art inside the stone, and I love to unveil your original form. When we know and use what we have, our careers become exciting again and full of momentum and achievement!
I have 3 principles that I use in my own career and encourage others to use in theirs through the Blueprint Process:
- Know yourself
- Use what you have to create value
- Create a BHAG (Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal) that will pull you forward in tough times, give you a focal point to drive growth towards, and leave a powerful, positive impact on the world in some way.
Life without these principles means discomfort, stagnation and self-centeredness, and that kind of life doesn’t interest me at all. I’m looking for others who are equally uninterested in a “meh” life, so we can band together and create synergy that will truly impact the world.
