It is very important to learn how to manage stress. That is why I decided to write this article to help you reduce your stress levels. Here are stress management tips to help you keep your stress under control and improve the quality of your life:

1.Sleep

It is amazing how much better things feel if you have enough sleep. Make sure your sleep environment is the perfect place to relax and drift off. Make sure your mattress is comfortable, take a look at beautyrest recharge mattresses.

  1. Write a List of Things That Are Going Well In Your Life

When people are stressed, they think that everything is going wrong in their lives. What they don’t know is that their stress is only caused by one or two areas of their lives. When you are stressed, write down a list of things that are going well in your life. Doing so will make you see that there are things going well in your life.

In fact, you will be surprised to learn that there are many things to be thankful for in life. Next, stick the list to a place where you can see it all day long such as next to your computer. Reading the list will make you feel better about yourself and help reduce stress.

  1. Get Very Clear On Your To-Do List

Remember that clarity enhances serenity. If you are stressed because you have got a lot on your plate, get specific about exactly what you have to do. You will be surprised to realize that the work that you must do is less than you thought.

After you have created your to-do list, put a circle around your most important tasks. In most cases, stressed executives exaggerate how much they have to do. Writing a to-do list will make that mountain of work smaller and manageable.

  1. Tidy Your Environment

Wayne Dwyer, the popular personal development guru, says that the state of a person’s car can tell you about his or her state of mind. When you are feeling overwhelmed, it may be a good idea to create order in your immediate environment- home, office, car.

Taking charge of your surroundings will increase your feelings of control. Martin Seligman, an esteemed behavioral psychologist has shown that there is a strong link between feelings of control and well-being.

  1. Consider the 3 Breath Release

I mentor entrepreneurs and executives from all over the world and I tell them to do try this breathing exercise whenever they feel stressed. I tell them to take a deep breath and while exhaling, I tell them to imagine that their stress and problems are leaving you. Doing this exercise 3 times will significantly reduce your stress levels.

  1. Help Other People

Helping other people is one of the best ways to reduce stress. Instead of focusing too much on yourself, start devoting time to help other people. This will help you avoid thinking about your problems. Several studies conducted by the University of Pennsylvania have shown a link between happiness and helping others.

I know that connecting the two can seem strange. However, it is true considering the fact that a lot of people in the corporate world are stressed because they are constantly thinking about their problems and situation instead of others. It is good to strike a balance between thinking about our problems and thinking about others.
