According to CBS News Texas’ Eye on Politics reporter Jack Fink stated that, “Republicans believe they will need that motivation, especially as the party enters the final stretch of the midterms, facing political headwinds nationally and competitive races at home.
Republicans are coming to Dallas with a sales pitch — and a turnout operation. This is meant to fire up the base and get them out to vote, and get them excited.
The RNC has said the convention is intended to highlight the Trump administration’s record and rally voters behind Republican candidates as the GOP fights to maintain control of Congress. Expect Republicans to lean heavily on tax cuts, immigration and border security, the economy and education.
For two days in Dallas, Republicans will have the arena, the lights and some of the party’s biggest names.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has unveiled its speaker roster for the party’s first-ever Midterm Convention in Dallas, Texas. The committee has not yet announced exact speaking times and expects to add more speakers to the roster. Roughly 100 Republican lawmakers and candidates are slated to attend the convention as speakers or guests, alongside a selection of non-political presenters,
President Donald Trump is set to deliver the keynote address on the opening night of the RNC’s first-ever midterm convention, a gathering of party leaders and delegates ahead of the November elections.

- Cabinet & Administration Allies: Attorney General Todd Blanche, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., former Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and Donald Trump Jr.
- Congressional Leadership: House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) and National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Chair Tim Scott.
- House Incumbents: Representative Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.), Representative Rob Bresnahan (R-Pa.), Representative Ryan Mackenzie (R-Pa.), and Representative Derrick Van Orden (R-Wis.).
- Texas Host Leaders: Governor Greg Abbott (R-Texas), Attorney General Ken Paxton (R-Texas), and Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
- Other House and Senate Candidates slated to attend include Ohio Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted (R-Ohio), Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, Michigan’s Senate candidate and former U.S. Representative Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), North Carolina Senate candidate Michael Whatley (R-N.C.) and U.S. Representative Mike Collins (R-Ga.)
Major themes and topics include:
- Border Security & Immigration – A central plank of the agenda, framed as “aggressively deporting criminal offenders and honoring those who defend the homeland.” Sessions will highlight enforcement actions, “two visions for America” on immigration, and related legislation
- Tax Relief & Economic Policy – The Working Families Tax Cuts Act, expanded standard deductions, and Child Tax Credit increases will be showcased. Other economic topics include middle-class tax cuts, mandatory voter ID under the SAVE America Act, and domestic manufacturing
