BIM: He had a major issue going on and you dug deep and found the cause and treated it.
Dr. Wells: I think the thing that I love the most about what I do is we’re trying to always look at the cause and not just look at the symptoms. We’re teaching people the understanding that the symptoms are gifts. You’ve got to appreciate the gift because it’s a warning signal letting you know there’s something going on.
BIM: It’s like your body’s early alarm warning system and you’re there going in to find the cause helps to eliminate the issue. That’s perfect, So let me ask you a question, what should be the first thing that a listener should do if they’re in pain or just want to improve their health? Maybe they’ve got some issues they’re having a challenge solving or they just want to take their health the next level. What should they do to start the process?
Dr. Wells: It goes back to that principle that Thomas Edison shared with the world. He was a pretty smart dude. He said this back in his day, “Look to the spine for health and disease”. It’s a challenge I think for some people to say why I might want to look to the spine but that’s really the number one place to look. You know we look at our medical model which is allopathic, but even back in the day with Hypocrites, the father of Medicine, he said the same thing as Thomas Edison said that we really should always look to the spine for health and disease. Thomas Edison went further as he said the doctor of the future will not only interest his patients in nutrition but he will look at the spine. And so I would always say that the number one place to start would be to assess the spine and assess the neurological function of every patient. And that’s where we always start. It’s kind of like a foundation and then we build off and go from there.
BIM: This has been great, Dr. wells. Where can they find more information or how can the contact you or your office.
Dr. Wells: Well our practice is Wells Family Chiropractic in Lindenhurst, Illinois. Our website www.WellsFamilyChiro.com and they can go there to get more information.
BIM: If they wanted to call your office or make an appointment, how would they do that?
Dr. Wells: They can call and just ask for Shelby. She’ll answer and it’s (847) 245-3202 and we’re open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 o’clock till 12 noon and then we’re back from 3 – 6pm. And we’re really pretty flexible here; you can go online and download the paperwork have it filled out, we have forms in Spanish, we have forms for children… so you can bring that paperwork in.
We really pride ourselves on not keeping people waiting. Here’s the thing Markus, I grew up in doctor’s offices being a young boy with asthma and being Rushed to the ER and being hospitalized, so I understand the medical model and I’m so grateful for it because it saved my life many times. But it also sometimes keeps you waiting. When you go to the “real doctor”, you sit and you wait sometimes for an hour. And so I said to myself, “I’m not going to keep my patients waiting because I’m going to respect their time”. And so that’s one of the things we pride ourselves as we strive to give world class service. We don’t keep our patients waiting.
BIM: That’s brilliant! I love it. Well thank you for all you shared with us today. You gave us a lot of gold nuggets for our readers. I really appreciate your spending the time with us today.
Dr. Wells: Thanks for having me. I appreciate it.
