Maureen Sullivan, D.C. (Doc Moe): How to Take Control of Your Health and Fitness Naturally

Phil Faris: This is not something for everyone. It is right for someone who says, “I’m ready to take control, and I need someone to guide me with good information, and that’ll work with me.” It’s the person who says, “I’m willing to take the necessary action on my lifestyle.”

Doc Moe: That’s right. I’m like the concierge guy, right? Once somebody gets hooked up with me, and they text me, or they could hire me just to do their blood labs, or you could say, “Hey, I want to talk to you once a month and you tell me what to do, and we can continue from there.” I’ll answer your texts. If you have a question about something, I will get back to you. It isn’t just like, “Oh, here’s your stuff, goodbye.” If somebody wants to keep going and understand what this is … great. By the way, I’m the supposed expert here. I’ve been through many things myself too, Phil, just like you have. I’ve weighed 175; I weigh 135 now. I used to be a smoker; I don’t smoke anymore. I used to drink a lot of alcohol; I don’t drink a lot of alcohol hardly at all anymore. I used to eat a lot of bad food. I don’t do that anymore. I’ve been through it. This isn’t like a swim coach that doesn’t know how to swim.

Phil Faris: Right.

Doc Moe: I want people to know that.

Phil Faris: It’s because each person has their journey. They just need someone that is informed enough to help them look in the right direction instead of what they’ve been conditioned to do.

Doc Moe: Right, Phil. The cultural authority, Phil, is humongous. I look at people, and I feel sorry for them. I do. That they haven’t been able to take a path to see what’s really going on. I’ve been lucky enough to be passionate about this and have the background, education, and curiosity to try to figure it all out. Hey, I may change things in a year if I find something new. I may change it tomorrow. But I’m always looking and trying to find the best research as to how this is all working.

Phil Faris: Well, Doc Moe, I want to thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, your experience, and more importantly, your curiosity and passion for finding answers that people can use and take control of their health and their fitness, especially as they get past that 50-year mark. So again, Doc Moe, thank you so much for being on the show.

Doc Moe: Phil, thanks so much for having me. And thank you for doing what you’re doing.

Phil Faris: My pleasure.
