Presented by The Chick-Fil-A Foundation, this prestigious award honors and supports community organizations from across the country that are investing in and inspiring future leaders. Nominated by Chick-fil-A Franchised operator Jared Johnson, he recognized that Central Texas Table of Grace’s mission embodies the spirit of the award.
Central Texas Table of Grace is dedicated to creating a loving, nurturing, home-like environment for displaced youth aged six to seventeen in the Central Texas area, providing shelter and healthy food as well as teaching healthy habits and life skills.
Stacy Johnson, who grew up in foster care herself, credits Russ Hanson, her former group-home therapist with giving her the tools she needed for lifelong success. Chick-Fil-A surprised Stacy by flying Russ, who she hadn’t seen in 17 years, to the gala to help present her with the award.
When asked what winning the award means, Stacy Johnson said, “Winning this award is an incredible honor for us. To be recognized by the Chick-Fil-A Foundation is really a testament to our services. The Chick-Fil-A founder, Truett Cathy, was the epitome of the values that I strive to instill in our children every day. The truth is, our success depends on the support we receive from our community. We can’t do it without you. It takes a village.“
