The Tambian Group LLCV, located in California is now certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE). ABOUT Summer Dunson, President

I have worked with The Tambian Group for over 11 years, as the General Manager and running all the day to day operations. Then three years ago, I was presented with the opportunity to purchase the company, and I did not hesitate as the company is something I helped build and would be able to continue to grow the business the way it needs to. Since taking over ownership, we are growing and are busier than we ever have been. The future is bright for us!

We recently had a chance to speak with Summer and asked her the following questions:

  1. What prompted you to obtain your WBENC certification through WBEC-West?

Summer:  Being WBENC  certified helps us leverage our services to corporations that understand the value of procuring products and services from  women owned companies. Also the training and mentorship available through WBENC is top notch and a valuable resource that can not be found anywhere else.

  1. Since being certified, what benefits have you/ your business experienced?

Summer: I participated and completed the WeThrive program and I attended a conference to help build me business self esteem. It has also helped me grow the business to where it is currently. The webinars that I have participated in helped me through the Covid Pandemic and has opened doors to both resources and education programs.

  1. How do you useyour certification?  (i.e., through online marketing, social media, print media, website, business cards, in stores on my product, etc.)

Summer: Both my email signature and website proudly display the certification logo.

  1. What advice would you share with a fellow Women Business owner who are looking to become WBENC certified?

Summer: The application may be lengthy, but it is 100% worth it to help your business get a foot in the door to some great corporate supply chains. And once you are certified, please take advantage of all the opportunities to network with other Women business owners as their experiences might be relatable and help you through any obstacles you might face.
