Izdihar: How did you start your Entrepreneurship journey?
Christi: I began by giving readings to my friends when I was a teenager. My business was a part-time endeavor from the mid-’90s until 2011 when I quit my job as a Probation and Parole Officer. “Breaking Free: From Probation Officer to Psychic Medium,” my first book, was a huge step for me. Since then, I’ve been doing this work full-time.
Izdihar: Who inspired you to start your business?
Christi: I draw inspiration from various sources, but Lisa Williams and Tony Stockwell are my two inspirations. They showed me that stepping into my gifts and becoming a successful psychic medium and businesswoman was possible.
Izdihar: What type of services or products do you offer?
Christi: My primary focus is as an Intuition Development Coach. I provide personalized individual coaching, unlimited coaching packages, and group coaching courses. This enables my clients to delve deeply into all things intuition based on their current experience, allowing them to gain the confidence, clarity, and consistency needed to use their intuition in their daily lives. I also offer individual readings on a limited basis.
Izdihar: What is the best part of being an Entrepreneur?
Christi: The best part for me is that I get to run my business the way I want it, on my own schedule, and following my passion.
Izdihar: What is the most challenging part about being an Entrepreneur?
Christi: The fact that I am a solo-preneur is the most challenging. It requires me to be self-motivated and self-reliant. There isn’t anyone else responsible except for me.
Izdihar: What are your biggest lessons about being an Entrepreneur?
Christi: The most important lesson I’ve learned is that it’s okay to ask for help. I’ve learned so many skills as my business has grown, which is both a blessing and a curse. I’m glad I learned them, but it’s been difficult to grow my business during those times of learning. Instead, I now ask for and seek assistance in areas outside of my expertise, which allows me to focus on my work.
Izdihar: How are you different from other Entrepreneurs in the same industry?
Christi: My focus and personality distinguish me from other coaches in my field. I had a lot of self-doubts and mental suffering because I didn’t have any support when I was younger, and this was before the internet. My style, messaging, and purpose are all about letting others who want to develop their intuition know they are not alone and that there is no need to suffer, be afraid, or be lost.
Izdihar: What are your Top 3 advice to other Entrepreneurs/your niche?
Christi: First and foremost, don’t be afraid to seek help and find a mentor who speaks to you. Someone who has been there and done that while remaining active in the metaphysical community. Second, you aren’t that weird. Don’t be afraid to embrace what distinguishes you from other entrepreneurs in your industry. People are drawn to your brand of magic, your unique way of connecting to a force greater than yourself.
Finally, I struggled for years with accepting my gifts and wanting to be accepted. What I learned very quickly about myself was that not only was I seeking classes and workshops to learn, grow and expand my skills, but I needed to receive validation that I am not crazy. It’s easy in the beginning to chase the need for certification at various levels of intuitive work. If you take anything away from this, it is that you do not need to be certified in any technique to be valid in your gifts. They are as unique as you are. What is critical, however, is to identify, practice, and build on the skills and gifts you have been given.
Izdihar: What is your secret to balancing your family, business, and ‘ME’ time?
Christi: To be honest, I work on balancing my life on a daily basis. Giving myself permission to schedule non-negotiable days off. This allows me to schedule quiet time, family activities, and time with my horse. It’s critical for me to decompress and fill my cup so that I can give from my saucer rather than my cup.
Izdihar: What is the one key action anybody can take today to move closer to their goals?
Christi: We spend so much time in the logical loop of decision-making. Surrender to the magic of believing in possibilities. Write 10 statements daily that begin with, “It’s totally
possible…” With practice, this will open the door of your imagination and creative energy in your life, allowing you to embrace your intuitive gifts in unforeseen ways.
