Prestonwood Christian Academy and friends will gather to raise funds for the school’s Sponsor-A-Lion (SAL) tuition assistance program. Financial support from SAL helps ensure that families from all socioeconomic backgrounds have the opportunity to attend PCA.
All proceeds from the Zig Ziglar Servant Leadership Award Banquet directly benefit Sponsor-A-Lion (SAL), PCA’s tuition assistance program. This year, 557 students received need-based financial assistance through SAL.

Scott Turner
Scott Turner is a former NFL player and Associate Pastor at Prestonwood Baptist Church. He currently serves as the 19th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), bringing a unique combination of leadership, humility, and courage to public service. He previously served as Executive Director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council, where he led the national Opportunity Zones Initiative to spur investment, expand housing access, and create jobs in distressed communities across America.
From 2013 to 2017, Secretary Turner represented the 33rd District in the Texas House of Representatives. He later founded the Community Engagement & Opportunity Council, an organization dedicated to equipping civic, business, and faith leaders to invest in their communities through mentorship, entrepreneurship, and workforce development. Turner also served as Chief Visionary Officer for JPI, where he advanced initiatives that support affordable housing and expand pathways to economic mobility nationwide.
