Howard Tangler Prescribes How To Change Robin Williams In 21 Days

Nitsan: I have found that when I use affirmations they didn’t work.

Affirmations have to have the three”P”s. First of all it has to be personal – it has to be something that you can believe. That’s why with Tom I said, “I’m getting better all the time”, not “I’m great at remembering names”.

Nitsan: Lovely, but what if I don’t feel I’m getting better? And I don’t feel like I can make it? And it just seems like the world is against me?

Howard: Well, my experience–and it’s the experience of lots and lots and lots of people– is that if you don’t try it, it won’t work. By the same token, if you’re willing to, at least give it a try and stick with the program of multiple times every day for 21 days – I have not seen that fail. The only failing I see is when people either don’t do it, they don’t stick with it, or they just don’t believe it will happen, so they’re just going through the motions.

Nitsan: Sounds accurate. So what advice can you leave us with?

Howard: Apply your affirmation correctly: first has to be personal – something you believe. Second, it has to be a positive: “I’m getting better all the time at remembering names,” not: “I’m going to stop forgetting names.” The third thing is that it’s got to be present tense – it can’t say: “Someday I’ll be good at this.” It’s got to be something that applies immediately, so it has to be: Personal, Present tense and Positive. The three “P”s.
