Renee Swasey Shares Valuable Insights On Why Massage is a Necessity, Not Just a Luxury

CS: Are there any specific questions a client should ask when scheduling a massage for the first time?

RS: There are and maybe we can delve into those in a future interview. One may be: am I completely undressed or partially undressed. The point is you need to feel comfortable with that initial call. I feel the office should be asking you questions such as: what is your goal? What are your concerns? What do want to get out of this? It’s about the results you experience.
Also, as I previously mentioned, if you are calling because of a specific condition, then ask the office if they have ever treated that condition and have had success with it.

CS: What is a good massage schedule to incorporate into our lives?

RS: Depending on your goal, time and finances that may change, but as a general suggestion:
Once every two to six weeks is best.
Once every three months is better than none.
One time a year might not be the best option because those who come once a year or come for their first time may experience soreness after from either the therapist going in deeper than you wanted or the toxins releasing from your muscles, either way drink plenty of water after each session.

CS: Before we draw this great time to a close Renee, is there anything else we may not have covered today that you would like to add at this time?

RS: If you think massage is not for you, I encourage you to schedule a half hour session with a therapist near you and if you don’t care for that massage, try two other therapists as all therapists are different and all therapies are different. If you hate all three massages Remember there are more than 600 muscles in the body that are constantly working day and night so take a “time out” and give them what they need which is a massage!, then massage just may not be for you.

CS: How would our listeners learn more about you Renee or contact you?

RS: Our website is alleghenymuscle.massagetherapy.com or call our office at 724-695-5300 or check us out on Facebook at Allegheny Muscle Therapy & Massage.
