Can you delve deeper into how this understanding has shaped your perspective on love, forgiveness and cherishing relationships, even from a distance?
Karyn: Perhaps, “Who Moved My Happily Ever After?” is the awakening I needed to realize that “moving” does not mean “vanishing”, “disappearing” or “extinction.” It simply means, a “change in scenery.” Perhaps, I have discovered in my role as an Adult Child of Divorce that happiness is a constantly changing series of experiences where we learn how to continue making the choice to love, to forgive and to carry on the tradition of cherishing if even…from a distance.
Carol: I truly respect and appreciate all you have shared and I honestly believe that not only this interview, but also the remaining in this series will have an incredible impact on many in varying situations, not just those experiencing their own divorce(s) but possibly those of their parents as well.
Thank you, Karyn. Your perspective indeed sheds light on the profound impact of divorce on adult children and the possible impact it can have on their “Happily-Ever-Afters.”
Karyn: I do believe that as parents we have a crucial role in creating a new vision as well as a new version of how our children can live happily-ever-after-our parent’s divorce as well as our own if that should occur.
Our next interview will cover some of the things I have learned as I have taken a look back at what my own children experienced in my divorce from their father. Hopefully, the lessons I have learned from my experience and my children’s experiences can serve to bless someone else in their own process moving forward.
