Dawn Livingstone: Making Positive Changes; Is it Really Possible by Just Changing Yourself from Within?

JC: Were you experiencing any, besides the accident, anything physically like headaches or maybe shoulder aches or your neck or anything that was from the stress of dealing with this?

Dawn: Headaches and neck pain? Yes, absolutely, but I always put that down to tension and blamed that on my work. However, really looking back, and hindsight’s a wonderful thing, but looking back on it, it was definitely my marriage. I was drinking a ton and it’s not nice to admit, but it helped for a while. I thought nothing of being able to sink back a couple of bottles of wine in a night and I know now it was only because my life was so unhappy, and I was just trying to mask the pain so I can now relate to that when people are coming to me with the same problem.

JC: And that’s what I see also. It manifests physically but people just blame it on something else.

Dawn: Always! People don’t want to take responsibility. About 26 years ago, my eyesight was starting to really deteriorate, so I had glasses and I was getting on fine with them. When I really had to tell my husband it was over, and that I wanted a divorce, I didn’t need my glasses and I didn’t need them for another 15 years. My eyesight only deteriorated as a sign that I wasn’t seeing clearly, that I wasn’t paying attention to the abuse in my life, ignoring the imbalances, and as soon as I realized what it was and took action to correct it, my eyesight went back to normal. So, the mind/body connection is a real thing.

JC: Tell me one more thing that you learned earlier in life, that you still apply today.

Dawn: I have a couple actually. And this is what I’ve been teaching. 1 – There is no such thing as fear other than that which we create. We’re not born with fear, it’s something we are taught, it’s something we learn. And if we can learn it, we can unlearn it, and people don’t understand the truth of that. 2 – If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’re going to keep getting what you’ve got. If you don’t take action to make positive change, you will continue to suffer, and by inaction, you’re making the conscious choice to continue suffering. 3 – Put yourself first, because you are the most important person in your life, so your life and your happiness matter. If I’d known how easy it was to stop my abuse, I would’ve done it many years before. And I’m trying to get that message out to people. 4 – Do it now.

JC: What are three things that we should be keeping in mind all the time when we want to make changes in ourselves?

Dawn: Be ready. You’ve got to be in a place where you want to change. There’s no point in seeking help if you really don’t want to accept that help. Don’t fear diving deep within or be scared about what you’ll find. It’s only memories that are affecting your reality in the present. Memories are created in the past and if we don’t shed the effects of them, we will be tethered to the past. It’s easier than you think, and you can dissolve them if you choose to. 2- Another would be to be honest, BRUTALLY honest with yourself and your healer. If you don’t tell the truth, you’re being disrespectful to yourself, and you will delay healing. All conversations with your healer should be in the strictest confidence and without judgment. You should feel safe in that environment with your healer and be willing to let go of the old you so that you can find your true self. Basically, we all get stuck in our past and unless we are willing to acknowledge it and then let it go, we won’t be able to move forward because regrets always keep us stuck in the past. 3 – Regret for the past and fear of the future prevent us from creating our lives today. If we are stuck in the past or we live in fear of the future, we’re never going to get anywhere.

JC: Can you give me a good description of what energy is in our bodies, how it affects our lives?

Dawn: Energy is everything and everything is energy. Separation is an illusion that we are taught to believe, but truthfully, we’re not separate at all. We are all connected in every way, shape and form. Whatever we do affects those around us, therefore, everything that they do affects people around them, which can impact you. What you do unto others, you do to yourself.  I work more with energy on a vibrational level and the subconscious mind just fascinates me. I just love the subconscious mind! This is where I mostly work from because your subconscious mind creates 95% of your reality that uses thoughts, words, actions, beliefs, paradigms, habits, to create. It’s like riding a bike. You do it several times and then you can do it without a problem because you’ve created a program, and that program never leaves you. That’s your subconscious mind, it’s all in there. Your life is driven by your subconscious mind, and if you have taken on lots of negative beliefs and thoughts and actions by looking at others, that is what goes into your subconscious mind especially during the first several years of life, and that is how you will behave. That’s how you’ll think.
