Carol: Most people who have done detoxes are familiar with what is called a Herxheimer reaction or flu like symptoms, to simplify, although often it seems worse, but does pass. Does systemic detoxification cause a Herxheimer reaction?
Lauri: Without knowing that their systems were sensitive, two people had a high immune response and they couldn’t partake according to the regular protocol. This experience has taught me to adjust the process so that the release of toxins goes very slow. As they tolerate, we then build up to the recommended detox dose. There may have been these 2 situations, but since adjusting how I start people, there haven’t been any others and there are never any adverse side effects. If it’s a heavier and a more critical situation, then starting is different. The key is that I stay in contact with them, where I make sure that things are going correctly and that they are noticing the benefit. I just encourage them and change things if needed. They get my full service and support, because I want them to have a pleasant experience with getting their body cleaner and healthier.
Carol: Did you or your husband have any noteworthy “standard” detox reactions?
Lauri: Well, because we had already been on a health journey, we really didn’t notice any major changes since our bodies were already in the process of getting clean.
Carol: What are some common misconceptions that you found that prospective or current clients may have about detoxing?
Lauri: For those considering a detox, a big misconception would be that by doing a general digestive/gut detox, toxins are being pulled out of the body and after reading this article, hopefully the differences will be understood. For my current clients, they start feeling better within a couple of weeks and get really excited. They are just hoping it continues. I remind them that everything about the body works better once it starts getting clean on the inside and the more you continue it, the better the benefits. You know, we’ve been taught throughout our lifetime to ‘listen to science’, but has it been the right science? If you go back to the basics and you think of negative and positive charges, opposites attract, and since all heavy metals carry a plus2 charge, something is needed of an opposite charge. I’ve yet to find where any kind of herbal supplement, cleanses or teas have the ability or the mechanism to perform what the body needs.
Carol: Thank you for sharing that information. Lauri, by the way, do you treat in person or remotely?
Lauri: The majority of everyone that I have helped so far has been over social media, or the phone. I have never personally met anyone that I have helped. So, I mean, anybody who wants information or who wants to talk to me can email me, call or friend me on Facebook at Lauri Nelson Brown. I know there are probably more than one of me, so my banner references ‘decreasing the body burden’.
Carol: Lauri, are there any fears that you’ve had to deal with emotionally with people when they head into a systemic detox?
Lauri: The one that I’ve heard the most is “what if it doesn’t work?” or “Well, I’ve tried everything else and it didn’t work.” I like to encourage people to be positively suspicious. You know, don’t be so skeptical that you are unwilling to try it. The best results that I have seen are from those who started with no expectations, because there’s no reason for it not to work. When you get the body cleaner, everything works better at once. With the biggest fear being, “will it work?” the bigger question should be … what if it DOES work?
Carol: When we are labeled with certain illnesses, we are led to believe that we shouldn’t do this, that or the other thing, so there is a bit of fear, for certain. If someone is considering systemic detoxification and those fears are present, how can they trust the process without concerns about harming themselves?
Lauri: I can totally understand those concerns and to be honest, I would have to share Slade’s journey where he was told not to do it by his doctor. He was in stage 5 kidney failure, was on dialysis and the transplant list. Because he knew he had nothing to lose, he started systemically detoxing in July and is now off dialysis, off the transplant list and has improved to stage 3. Although I am not in the convincing business, there are hundreds of testimonies from others who, most likely, have struggled with a situation similar to the reader.
Also, it is important to know, and this is something I believe is rarely seen or that happens: to allay any other fears, the biochemist who developed the Detoxolite, Rik, is willing to get on the phone with someone and talk with them. From my past experience with other companies, that is something that you do not find.
Carol: I agree.
Lauri, once someone successfully goes through a systemic detox, do they need to do this several times throughout a year or change their diet or make other lifestyle changes to maintain?
Lauri: A lot of people ask that question, and I always tell them: “it’s a lifestyle choice.” The goal is to get your body cleaner, and then stay ahead of future accumulation because toxins are everywhere and we are every day. The actual choice, if they want to continue, is up to them.
