Marie Rodgers – Change Your Approach To Sales To Ensure Business Profitability

Or Simona, who hadn’t had a single coaching client for a year and was working full-time as a lawyer, but worked desperately to set up a full-time coaching business, within 4 months of working with me, she gave up her corporate career because she now had a profitable coaching business working online and offline.  A year on she is earning more money from her coaching business doing what she loves than being a full-time lawyer.

The biggest thing that I find is you have to deliver the full solution. You cannot promise one thing and deliver part of it and that is really what is annoying me online, it has to be a full solution and it has to deliver results. I have this mantra that I only succeed when my clients succeed.

Isabelle Giroday: At the end of the day, the best is when it’s a win/win situation and your clients actually do have results to show for.

Marie Rodgers:  I also see Facebook or social media as TripAdvisor, your clients have to be getting results and they have to be posting about those results because that reflects the reality. It’s okay with you saying what you can do but when your clients are actually backing up that you have delivered your promise, it makes it easier to get other clients.

I have very loyal clients who post a lot about the results they are getting as they go along. And that helps me get other clients and that is what I teach others to do as well. Because we sometimes forget our success stories on our journey and the transformation a client gets and we lose sight of the overall promise that we are making.

I have this thing that I don’t really need to blow my own trumpet, I want my clients to do that for me because they are happy with the results that they paid me to get, because that’s the deal.

Isabelle Giroday: You mentioned at the beginning that people don’t need to spend money on Facebook ads and they don’t need complicated technology, can you share a little bit more about this?

Marie Rodgers: I’m not saying don’t invest in Facebook ads but I think there are a time and stage in business where that could be the right move and it’s generally when you have got quite a sizable budget and that you can afford to trial and error with Facebook ads because unfortunately that’s what it takes.

If you are quite new or you have not done it before, you can waste an awful lot of money and I did do that. I’ll do it again but it’s going to be at a different stage and in a different way.

Luckily, you don’t need to spend a dime on Facebooks ads or complicated technology to get to 6 figures with your business. The reason I’m saying that is because I have a Client Conversion System that I have been using offline and it is all about interacting with your perfect prospect, your ideal client, how to reach out, when to do it and working really smart.

My whole thing is work smart, work simple and work effectively and the client conversion system consists of three areas, so there are 3 pillars to it.

One is creating an irresistible offer, so literally when you present your offers, they are done in the best way, and you do it confidently. I like to present up to 3 offers in a certain way so that people have a choice which makes it easier for them to make a decision. The second step is a system that gets you predictable leads, because without leads you don’t have anyone to sell to and it has to come from the perfect prospects. It has to be people that are ideal for you and I have a very smart system for doing that.

And then the third step is about what I actually say when I’m reaching out, how do I reach out, how do I interact, how do I engage, how do I get them on a call, what do I say when I get them on the phone, what if they ask me a question and I don’t know what to say, how do I start talking about money, all of these things I help my clients with.

Isabelle Giroday: Do you take on clients regardless of whether they are just starting their business or they have already been in business for a while?

Marie Rodgers: My system applies to any stage of business. If you are starting from scratch and nobody knows who you are, this will work. If you’ve been coaching and you’ve had clients but maybe you don’t have the consistency of predictable high paying clients, this is definitely for you.

This is about getting you to a place of consistency and confidence in terms of the clients that are coming to you, so that you can have a profitable business.
