MM: Hello, my name is Michael Mariner, and I am an inspired author, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur. My fulfillment comes from empowering and equipping minds to think different to live and be different. As a shift strategist, I embrace the challenge of helping individuals and organizations shift their thoughts into actions by creating strategies to help excel them into their purpose through professional empowerment, self and personal development, and leadership development. Also known as the “Shift Motivator” I am the voice that helps govern the transition periods in your life while figuring your way to greatness.
I am also the Pres/CEO of Shift Motivations, a professional and personal development company created to inspire, equip, and empower leaders, entrepreneurs, youth & young adults to live a life by design and not by default. I am driven by a passion for changing lives.
BI: What would you say is the area in business that you are most passionate about and why?
MM: I am most passionate about personal growth and development because as long as I’m growing and developing as an individual then and only then will I have the ability to help grow and develop others effectively. “Effective leadership is leading to empower and not dictating to exploit.”
BI: How are you different than your competitors?
MM: Having to survive many challenges in life and being displaced due to record-setting hurricane damage that displaced my family and me for 2yrs I truly understand what it means to shift; to embrace the change necessary to get results no matter the circumstance. Through humility and passion, my focus is to make sure that your encounter with me is a long lasting one and that I equip and empower you to finish any task set before you by giving you the strategies and tools to do so. When we truly learn how to complete each other and stop competing with each other, then total fulfillment can take its course. My job is to help complete you not compete with you.
BI: Please tell me about any recent business accomplishments that you are most proud of and why?
MM: Being able to expand in the market of empowering the next generation of leaders have been a great accomplishment for my organization and me. Having done several presentations for students has been rewarding because I get to say that I had an impact on the future decision makers of tomorrow.
BI: What Leadership qualities in Leaders do you most admire and why?
MM: Humility, passion, perseverance, vision, integrity, goal oriented, and trustworthy. These qualities are important to me because these are what I feel is necessary to be effective as a leader. Inside every great leader is a great servant and inside every great servant is a great leader. Passion is the fuel for progress. Perseverance is the strength of success. Vision sets the tone for innovation. Integrity sets the tone for trust and being goal oriented keeps one away from complacency.
BI: What has been a key element of your success?
MM: Passion and perseverance have been keys to my success. My drive to never give up and see the end result of a thing has always kept me shoulders above the rest. Tenacity has always been and always will be a strength for me to continue to be innovative, humble, and creative.
BI: What are some of the business projects that you are currently working on that you are excited about and why?
MM: I have a new book coming out in the fall, and I’m working on some new coaching programs to better serve my clientele. I also have a new line of apparel that will be shortly made available as well.
BI: What are 1 or 2 things you would like to say to a prospective client who stumbles across this interview?
MM: “Your inability to change will affect your ability to win.”
MM: That’s what I’m all about as “The Shift Motivator” just as there’s a need for trainers, coaches, and mentors there’s a need for shifts and who better to partner with than “The Shift Motivator” I help create strategies to help you embrace the change needed to get the desired result
BI: To wrap this up, what are you most excited about in the upcoming months in your business?
MM: I am most excited about the launch of my new line of apparel, my new book, and coaching projects that will be made available to assist in my journey to help change the lives of many
