Quanta D: What is it that you don‘t do Beni? What meaningful experiences you have lived, Beni, even delivering so many children and assisting with their growth.
Beni Ghale: Yeah, now they are more grown up than me but I am happy that they are very happy with what I am doing. Before, at first working in a society which is the background education about the health and the many things, it was very difficult to explain to them to use family-planning. After the working here and for 5 years, it came really easy for me in helping so many families and then I felt, oh my God, I can do. Somebody can do something good for people and make them understand. So that is why I am running around doing socially. I was going to be a Doctor but I couldn’t because of many reasons, economic and others. Now, I’m working on Women’s Education. I want to be uh I want to open a Women’s Center in Kathmandu, for the women who are from rural areas, who come here to Kathmandu when they hope to get the jobs and education but they couldn’t. So now I am giving them income positions with Beni Handcrafts, instead of an education & resources center. My efforts, my hard work is based on the women, our corporation and happiness and doing this together and succeeding. We’ve done thousands of recycled products and we’re selling a huge stock that we have in Kathmandu. More women will join and allow us to do more and sell more of Beni Handcrafts products and have happiness for our family’s lives and this will do more to help the Nepali people. So selling the Beni Handcrafts products are giving income positions work for collecting the garbage and making nice things we can be proud of.
Quanta D: And proud you should be of such honorable work, Beni. You should also be proud that the tourists from different parts of the world are talking about the works of you and your Beni Handcrafts ladies. So we know that Beni Handcrafts is a charitable organization, and we must be clear for our readers, can you tell us exactly how the families of the prisoners and the women are paid? How do you provide the income?
Beni Ghale: Before the first beginnings of these trainings and offering work, I had help from my family. My relatives and my friends were collecting the garbage and washing it. I then took some loans from my family and friends and then I started training for them, after that they became skilled with making the products. I am not the rich person, I wish I could take care of them, so selling Beni Handcrafts and trying to put some of the profits into Steps Foundation Nepal will help.
Quanta D: Your company is already innovative in creating such beauty from recycling trash. To add even more to the deserved fascination in what and how these products are created, the sale from each Beni Handcrafts item goes into paying the worker’s income and also providing resources for health, education, and living?
Beni Ghale: Yes please.
Quanta D: Ok Beni. As our readers will have interest in supporting a cleaner Earth and the Beni Handcrafts Pvt Ltd organization and by making a purchase of these products, how can we take a look at and purchase the Beni Handcrafts?
